Madera is located in the center of California, with a semi-arid grassland climate and a population of about 60,000. The city is the administrative center of Madeira County, with developed agriculture, and the surrounding area is rich in grapes, almonds and other crops. Yilan City formed an alliance with Madeira City on November 14, 1994 as a sister city. Yilan City has sent orchestras to Madeira for exchange many times, and has established a profound friendship foundation with the Madeira government and people in Madera city.
